This luxury chess set has been made with so much attention to detail
Each piece is individually thrown on a wheel, then bisque fired. Then they are hand decorated, and glazed again ready to add gold details, (then fired again to set the gilding). After this we crafted the King and Queen crowns by weaving wire and beads.
The King and Queen are the largest Kiln pieces, next to them are the Bishops which are designed with inspiration from the saggar maker bottom knockers.
Next to the bishops we have the beautiful ducks with their curved necks, representing the knights.
The Rooks are based around our beloved Mow Cop.
The pawns are all mini kilns with leaf details .
The board is a vintage very heavy resin piece in vintage condition and the carved squares just add an extra layer of luxury to this artwork.
The squares measure 4.5 cm x 4.5 cm
